We have this space in our kitchen/dining area that we use for our charging station. It's not pretty. I like the convenience of it, but don't like looking at the mess, especially the cords. Ugh! We bought the table at a garage sale for $5.00 about four years ago. It was a dark wood that the hubs painted white. Here's what the space used to look like.
I started out by making a skirt for the front of the table. I already had about a yard of some white burlap. My original intention was to make some sofa pillows, but never got around to it. I made note of the measurements, then pinned the sides and top of fabric. I did the hem afterwards.

I stitched it up. Sorry about the crappy lighting.
I started in the middle and just worked my way out to the ends spacing out the pleats. I folded the fabric over, pinned, then stitched in place.
Now I needed a way to attach it to the table. I used this. You can find it in the sewing section at Wal-Mart or JoAnn Fabrics. I got mine at JoAnn's. It's pretty pricey, about $10 for one package, but being the savvy shopper I am I used a 50% off coupon!
Sew the non-sticky part to the top of the wrong side of the fabric.
Now, just attach the skirt to the table. Easy, peasy.
I had this box that I covered with some wrapping paper that I had gotten from the Dollar Tree. This is one of those projects I did and then never did the post. It's been sitting on our counter where we've been throwing the mail. However, it wasn't quite big enough to hold magazines so I am re-purposing it.
I poked some holes in the back so cords would fit. It's not pretty, but no one's going to see it. Well, except for you guys. So just don't tell....okay?
Our charging station fit perfectly!
Now all I needed was something for the wall. I found these free prints over at life {illustrated}. I bought the 5x7 frames at Family Dollar for $1.50 each.
Aren't they great looking!
Here's our new charging space. I also keep my laptop there when I'm not using it.
Thanks for visiting.
