Our First Snow Fall

We had our first snow fall.............before Halloween.  I thought I would share a few pictures with you.  I know, I know all of you out there in blog land that never get snow are wishing you had this.............right?  The pictures are a little dark because I took them at dusk.

The wind was so strong it blew my corn stalks down.  The pumpkin with the silly face was a gift from my precious grandson.

Alas, the sun came out and by the next morning it was gone.  But I know this for sure............it will return with a vengeance.

My Next Project

I'm still recovering from doing my kitchen, but no time to rest.  I still have plenty of projects to do.

Here's my next one:

I picked this up at an auction for............gulp............$25!  I almost had it for $5.  The auctioneer was already to say "SOLD" when somebody else woke up and bid me up to $25.  I really like it.  I believe it was made for a potting bench, but I'm using it in our living room.  I originally thought I would use it as a sofa table, but it's too tall and I didn't want to cut it down.  Instead I'm going to use it as a table to throw junk on place lovely decorative objects on.

Notice it's sitting on a drop cloth.  That's 'cause I'm going to paint it white.  My plan is to use a dry brush technique 'cause I don't want to hide the weathered look entirely.  We'll see how that goes.  I'll let ya know how it turns out.

Kitchen Cabinets Reveal

Well I finally did it!  I finished painting my kitchen cabinets.  It was quite the undertaking.  Don't know as I will ever do it again.  I'll apologize in advance for some of the glare.  It was a very sunny afternoon and the sun was shining in.  Here you go.  Enjoy.  Oh, and yes people, you will see dirty dishes on the counter.  It's real life.

Bead board, molding and corbels were added to the island.

Towel rack was even removed and painted to match. You can see the distressing here.

There's an appliance garage above dishwasher.  Sun was too bright.

I still have to buy some new stools for the island.  Haven't found anything I like yet.

Organizing My Clear Stamps

For those of you who don't know, I am an avid scrapbooker.  I also make cards, but mostly scrapbook.  Which means I have a lot, and I mean a lot of  stamps.  Most of my stamps I purchased from Close To My Heart.  Anyway, I thought I had the ideal way of storing them.  A year or so ago I bought a wicker shelving unit from a garage sale and spray painted it white.  They certainly were stored in there.........but not organized.  When it came time to find a stamp set, it took me a while.  

I decided it was time to better utilize the system.  I cut some extra cardstock I had to use as dividers and then labeled them using my P-Touch.

These stamps come packaged in a plastic envelope with a light weight cardboard insert.  I removed all the inserts so that they weren't as bulky and used less space.

Then it was just a matter of filing them back into the wicker drawers.  I alphabetized them within their categories.  Yes, I admit it I have a little OCD.................just a little.

I have 3 drawers full and that's of just CTMH stamps.  

Sorry about the bad photos.  We've had some pretty cloudy, rainy days which make for bad picture taking.

My New Gadget

I'm finally back.  I have been having some computer issues among other things.  Life just seems to get in the way of blogging.

Anyway.  I wanted to share with you my new gadget purchase.  Technically it's an appliance, but I prefer to call it a gadget 'cause I'm the gadget queen.  Love me some gadgets.  I finally gave in and purchased a Keurig.  My husband is the coffee drinker in our house.  I used to be, but switched to tea with my first pregnancy because, well, because coffee made me nauseous.  I tried some of the flavored coffees and I am in love.  I love them.  I still drink my tea, but now enjoy a flavored cup of coffee daily.  Yes, they do have tea, which I have also purchased.  Love the Sleepy Time Tea.

And yes, I have devoted an entire drawer to K-cups.
